Wanda Harding Photography Newsletter December 4, 2003 I’ve added eleven water abstract photographs. The images vary widely in style. Three are from my new ovoid project in which I try to capture the ovoid shape found in water and Northwest Native American art. Interesting things happen when I try to get a large image of the ovoid. As often occurs in art, the mistakes can be the most interesting. The beginning of a river project is also included in this latest posting. These three river shots are from the San Juan River which runs through Pagosa Springs, Colorado. They were taken this fall. The two images with the strongest colors are from the Houston Ship Channel. The intense colors are created by barges reflected in the water. An autumn photo of Houston’s Hermann Park train bridge looks completely different from the summer train bridge shot. As always with the water photos, wind, cloud cover, and time of day make a big impact on the photograph. I’ve included two dark water abstract images. I think these shots are best viewed large, so click on the thumbnail to view the large image. These are very different from the other water abstracts projects; actually all the various water abstract projects are different from each other. It is amazing how much art is to be found in water.
